Knock at the Cabin: Is It Worth Watching?

Knock at the Cabin: Is It Worth Watching?

Admin 1 hour ago 0 2

Post-apocalyptic movies and TV series are always lovely to watch. That is if you think about the world’s end and what could happen. Knock at the Cabin is another Shyamalan work about an apocalyptic world where a family of three holds the future of the world… but probably not in the way you think.

M. Night Shyamalan is known for the twists in his films, but Knock at the Cabin is likely one of his most straightforward works. This movie, based on The Cabin at the End of the World, differs slightly from the book’s story.

However, deciding whether it’s a good or bad is always up to the viewer and what they like to watch. If you’re planning to watch this movie on streaming services and are unsure if it’s worth your time, we’ll share the key points we loved. This way, you can decide if you should watch it or not.

LGBTQ+ Love, Hate, and the In-Between

One of the most memorable parts about Knock at the Cabin is the gay couple that experienced discrimination, which in return, played a big part in how the story turned out. Eric and Andrew, the couple at the story’s center, are portrayed with sincerity and sensitivity.

When talking about “gay” people, many people think that it’s an insult, a disgrace, and other negative words. But in reality, there’s no difference between straight and gay people — perhaps they’re just happier and freer than others.

But it’s where some viewers questioned if gay hate was the point of the movie or not since they are often considered “sinners” in most religions.

Let’s talk more about the plot without fully going into the details so we don’t spoil you. Just a reminder though, that when you watch this movie, make sure you have a fast wireless service so you can really focus on the story.

Knock at the Cabin Plot

The movie is about a family of three people who went on a vacation at a remote cabin. The young daughter is approached by a big man with tattoos, Leonard, while she was playing outside the cabin. The man is trying to make friends with her, but she feels skeptical about this guy and in his intentions, so she rushed back into the cabin and called her adoptive fathers.

Leonard came with three other people. According to them, the four of them had similar visions to find Eric and Andrew’s family to save the world from an apocalypse. To save the world, they need the family to sacrifice one of their own. And to do the sacrifice, those within the family are only the ones who can take the life of the sacrifice.

If they don’t do it, everyone on Earth will die and they will be the only ones left on Earth. But if they choose one of their own to sacrifice, the world will be spared. The entire movie is mostly about this group of people convincing the family to go on with the sacrifice.

It’s completely different from apocalyptic movies and TV shows we see on DISH TV, for example, which is a great thing for those who are looking for something new.

Is Knock at the Cabin Worth Watching?

Yes, Knock at the Cabin is worth watching. It’s a solid 7/10 for us. It does not have a mindblowing twists or turns, but the story itself and how you’ll reflect on the symbolism and the true meaning of the movie is beautiful. If you’re biblical, you will surely enjoy the movie – no doubt. If you’re planning to watch this movie, this is your green light to do so. We hope you enjoy this movie as much as we did. Happy watching!
